ABSTRACT

Objective@#The study aims to explore the epidemiological characteristics of tuberculosis among students in Qinghai Province, to provide scientific basis for the prevention and control of students tuberculosis.@*Methods@#Data on tuberculosis among students from 2016 to 2019 in Qinghai province were collected and epidemiological characteristics were analyzed, the spatial distribution map were drawn by using ArcMap 10.8.@*Results@#During 2016-2019, there were 2 691 reported cases of tuberculosis among students in Qinghai Province the reporting rate were 46.10/10 5, 68.50/10 5, 73.49/10 5, 85.96/10 5, increased year by year( χ 2=116.45, P <0.01). With a high incidence from March to September each year. The tuberculosis patients were mainly aged 18 years and above, with more reported female cases than male cases and more Tibetan cases. Most of students tuberculosis cases were reported in southern Qinghai, especially in Yushu and Guoluo areas, and sharp increase was observed in Xining during 2018 to 2019.@*Conclusion@#Students tuberculosis in Qinghai is still serious. ABSTRACT

Insufficiency of standard cancer therapeutic agents and a high degree of toxicity associated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy have created a dearth of therapeutic options for metastatic cancers. Oncolytic viruses (OVs) are an emerging therapeutic option for the treatment of various human cancers. Several OVs, including poxviruses, are currently in preclinical and clinical studies and have shown to be effective in treating metastatic cancer types. Tanapoxvirus (TANV), a member of the Poxviridae family, is being developed as an OV for different human cancers due to its desirable safety and efficacy features. TANV causes a mild self-limiting febrile disease in humans, does not spread human to human, and its large genome makes it a relatively safer OV for use in humans. TANV is relatively well characterized at both molecular and clinical levels. Some of the TANV-encoded proteins that are a part of the virus' immune evasion strategy are also characterized. TANV replicates considerably slower than vaccinia virus. TANV has been shown to replicate in different human cancer cells in vitro and regresses human tumors in a nude mouse model. TANV is currently being developed as a therapeutic option for several human cancers including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, retinoblastoma, and melanoma. This review provides a comprehensive summary from the discovery to the development of TANV as an OV candidate for a wide array of human cancers

ABSTRACT

Objective@#Based on the MSM college students in Tianjin, this study aims to explore the demographic and behavioral characteristics of MSM with different sexual partners, and to provide evidence and information for intervention in combination with social networks.@*Methods@#According to the source and access of seeking sexual partners, 546 MSM of Tianjin college students aged 18-24 in 2018 Jan. and 2019 Dec. were divided into internet-based MSM (396) and traditional MSM (150). Chi-square test and rank-sum test were used to compare the demographic information, sexual behavior characteristics, HIV prevention and testing awareness, and psychoactive substance use of the two MSMs, and Logistic regression was used to explore factors affecting college students use of the Internet for sexual partners.@*Results@#Internet-based MSM has advantages in receiving HIV testing and safety consulting services, AIDS knowledge level, and peer education in the past year (P<0.05). The psychoactive substance use of the survey population reached more than 40%, and the awareness rates of pre-exposure prophylaxis and post-exposure prophylaxis were 32.98% and 55.32%, respectively. After multivariate Logistic regression analysis, MSM students who had received condom distribution, AIDS counseling and peer education (OR=2.16, 1.98, P<0.01) were more inclined to use the Internet for sexual partners.@*Conclusion@#Relevant departments can use the Internet to intervene in the prevention and control of MSM in colleges and universities in terms of AIDS-related knowledge, HIV testing, and mental substances.
